Today Is My Monday

Today is it. It’s time to get rid of ALL the excuses. It’s time to make shit happen! I have made out a eating plan and also a workout plan. It’s time to get real.

Life has been crazy since my last post. (Update post will be live soon) I need someone to hold me accountable. If you are on Instagram – follow me. (beinspired_betrue) I am going to start posting meals (once a day), fit bit stats daily and workouts!

I have to do something. I am tired of not feeling great about myself. I am also tired of being tired all the time. This could attribute to my possible thyroid issue. (more on that after April 13) But I know that when I change my habits, I will start to feel better. I know that I need to do this. I just get bored  and then the motivation leaves. If I could get my brain to realize I won’t see change over night. I didn’t get this way over night!

So here’s to today!

2016 Goals

Now that 2015 is over it’s time to get down to business! I am going to make 2016 MY year! Some of the bad habits have crept back in throughout the last 2 months (thank you holidays!!!) and I can feel it; mentally and physically. It’s my time to shine!

I am not one to keep or make “resolutions”. To me it means to resolve something and I am not resolving anything, I am setting goals for myself. Goals that I can obtain. Goals that I can create to make myself better both physically and mentally.

The goals I have for 2016 are:

  1. Make time for myself – This is important because I truly believe that I’m order for myself to become healthy I need to take the time for some me time every once in awhile.
  2. Lose 52 lbs – Why 52? That gives me the realistic goal of 1 lb a week! I will not stress on the number of the scale. I am only going to weigh myself once a month and I will keep track of it.
  3. Drink more water – This has been lacking a lot in the last 2 months. I have needed caffeine and I am seeing the bad habits of having a can of pop or worse yet resorting to the worse (energy drinks).
  4. Get organized – I am OCD in the organizing dept and I have been slacking and it is bothering me something fierce.

So tell me. Are you making goals for 2016? What are some of your goals that you are setting for you self?

MealEnders Review +GIVEAWAY!!

MmI was blessed with the opportunity from FitApproach and MealEnders to be able to review their product and also giveaway some to my fabulous readers!

Are you someone who is known to overeat? Do you have a hard time not giving into cravings? If you answered “YES!” to either question (or both, if you are like me) then you are in the right place!

What are MealEnders?
It is a weight management product that help to avoid overeating and clearing cravings. MealEnders do not only work solely on your stomach. The lozenges focus on the mind and body.

How do they work?
The lozenge will keep your mind and mouth occupied after a meal (to replace dessert) or when you want to curb a craving. The lozenge is made up two layers. The first layer is the sweet layer. This is the “dessert” portion of the lozenge. The second part is a cooling/tingling hard layer. According the MealEnders, this layer clears the palate and lingers on the tongue after the lozenge is dissolved.

Borrowed From MealEnders Twitter Feed @mealenders

How did I use them?
I used them after meals when I felt like I needed to eat more but I didn’t want to overeat, and also on days that I felt like I couldn’t stay out of the kitchen. Working from home in a child care setting, I am ALWAYS in the kitchen and it’s hard for me to not graze all day long. On those days particular, I felt that the lozenges worked well. According the directions, you are not allowed to chew the lozenge. Allow the lozenge to dissolve completely. This step was hard for me because I am the type that likes to bit suckers, and hard candy. I can’t just let them dissolve! BUT I did it!

There are four flavors that are available from MealEnders. Each pack comes with 25 pieces. You can chose from the following flavors: Citrus, Mocca, Chocolate Mint, or Cinnamon. Prices start at one pouch for 14.95. You can also make a 30 day commitment for 34.95 or a 90 day commitment for 89.95 (SAVINGS of 45.00!!!) Plus if you subscribe to either the 30 day or 90 day commitment then you can save an additional 10%. Who doesn’t love a good savings?!

What are they made of?
Each flavor contains different ingredients – Head on over to MealEnders Ingredients page to check on the flavors that you would like to try.

My overall experience with MealEnders:
I have used them a handful of times throughout the days since my product came in the mail. I can defiantly tell a difference when I use them versus days I do not. The cravings are reduced on days that I use them and at 15 calories for 1, that in my mind is A LOT less then half a bag of chips, cookies, candy bars, etc!
I really enjoyed the citrus and the cinnamon. I am not a huge coffee fan so the Mocha was not one that I would pick and also the Chocolate Mint I let my husband try and he enjoyed that one since Chocolate Mint is a favorite flavor of his.

AND NOW for the FUN: MealEnders was gracious enough to allow me to giveaway a 4 pack (one pack of each flavor) to one of my lucky readers! (a $50.00 value) So if you want to win enter now! Vega Sport Electrolyte Hydrator Review

I was privileged to be able to test and review  Vega Sport Electrolyte Hydrator as part of the Fuel You Better Campaign that was put on by Vega and also FitApproach. I am also hesitate but excited to try new things.

I have to say that I was very happy with how the Vega Sport Electrolyte Hydrator tasted. I have never tried the Vega brand before but I have to jump on this band wagon and say that I am a fan now and would love to try other Vega products. I am always struggling with getting enough water; even though that is the only thing I drink during the day – so I thought this would  be the perfect product to test on myself. I would hope that it would give me the ability to drink more water during the day and help stay hydrated. I was given the Berry flavor to test and it was very berry. The flavoring wasn’t over powering either which was one concern I had.

I love the fact that the packets are small enough that I could keep a few on my purse (aka Baby P’s bag) so even on the go I could have the option to make the best choices in hydration. Also, because the Vega products are plant based, the hydrator is also dairy, soy and gluten free. I also love the fact that the products contain no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners! BONUS!!  I really try to limit the artificial-ness (yes, I just made that word up!) I have during the day.

Now, lets talk about the facts…The Supplement Facts!

How do you stay hydrated during the day?

My Oatmeal PB Lean Review

I had the opportunity to work with My Oatmeal through my lovely #sweatpink community FitApproach. I was able to choose my own concoction or pick one that was already pre-made. I decided that because of how picky I am with my oatmeal and I’m not one for eating a lot of it, I selected to review the PB Lean. I had never tried a PB powder before so I was excited and anxious at the same time.

There are many different options that you are able to choose from either by making your own mixture or buying a pre-made one. I made a PB Lean that I called “Cake All Year Long”. It was made with the flavoring of cake batter and vanilla frosting.

PB Lean is a healthier version of PB. (obviously!) It is a low calorie, low fat, low sodium, and also gluten free!!!
According to the back of my bag for every 14 grams of my PB Lean I made, there are only 59 calories, 1 gram of fat, 61 mg of sodium, 9 grams of carbs, 1 g of fiber, 4 g of sugar and 3 g of protein.

 IMG_20140410_201457_526 (1)

When I first received PB Lean, I tried it with just mixing the powder with water and having some PB Lean Toast for breakfast. I will be honest, with that first taste I was not a huge fan. I love me some PB and the taste was “healthier” and I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to use the PB Lean. So for my mid day snack, I decided to mix a little bit of PB Lean with some yogurt. Now that I can say was some good tasting yogurt. So I believe that until I can get used to the texture and taste of a PB powder, I will be using it to mix with other items to give it more of a sweet taste.

The website is very easy to navigate. It is user friendly and easy to understand. There are options that you can get the PB Lean shipped to you either often or just once. Some of the choices are:

  • once
  • every 2 weeks
  • monthly
  • every 6 weeks
  • every 2 months
  • every 3 months

The cost associated to the PB Lean is very reasonable. It is around 14.00 for 1.5lb bag. I would suggest checking My Oatmeal out. Not only do they have the PB Lean, but they also have oatmeal options!! Search for reviews of the oatmeal selections from my other #sweatpink sisters!

#MNB Challenge Week 2

MNB Challenge Week 2

Well, as you read this we are officially into the third week. I meant to sit down and write this post out on Friday and life happens; and totally being off schedule, forgetting today is Monday…I am just now getting down to it.

Mondays challenge was to go meatless. I was rather nervous about this challenge when I first read all the challenges. What can I say, I love me some meat! But I thought what is one day going to hurt? Will it be tough…Maybe! Can I do it? YES!! And I did. (Not pictured were the eggs and fruit I had for breakfast)

Do you participate in #meatlessmondays?

Tuesdays challenge was “Take Your Lunch To Work”. This was an easy peasy challenge for me. I work at home. My lunch for the day was one of my favorite salads now. Spinach, veggies, chicken and raspberries.

Do you take your lunch to work or eat out? If you eat out, try taking your lunch to work for one week and notice the difference!

Wednesdays challenge was to journal your food for the day. This is some days a struggle for me. I get busy and forget to write down what I have ate. Is it a habit I would like to get into to? Yes. More then ever. Should I make more time for it? Yes. Life is just crazy around here and sometimes, there are times I forget to even eat.

Do you keep a food journal? Do you write it down or use an app?

Thursdays challenge was to make and share your favorite smoothie. I used frozen fruit (mixed berries) and greek yogurt. It was delish and really helped me curb the sweet craving I had that night.

What are your favorite things to add into a smoothie?

Fridays challenge was to go raw. I posted a picture of my favorite raw snack. Fruit!!

What does going Raw mean to you?

And now to the final week of the #mnbchallenge!
